From September 2025, the NHS Cervical Screening Programme will begin sending negative cervical screening results (normal results) directly to patients through the NHS App.
If a patient receives a negative result, they will be notified via the NHS App and a notification will appear on their device. If the message is not read within 72 hours, a letter will be sent as a backup. Abnormal results will continue to be sent via post.
