On 17th July, Black Country ICS is holding a cancer patient event to discuss their cancer journeys and how they can make changes going forward. The focus of the event is based on the 6 questions within the NCPES(National Cancer Patient Experience Survey) that focus on primary care. The main questions are below.
SUPPORT FROM YOUR GP PRACTICE
Q2. Pts only spoke to primary care professional once or twice before cancer diagnosis
Q3. Referral for diagnosis was explained in a way the patient could completely understand
CARE FROM YOUR GP PRACTICE
Q51. Pts definitely received right amount of support from their GP practice during treatment
Q52. Patient has had a review of cancer care by GP practice
LIVING WITH AND BEYOND CANCER
Q53. After treatment, the patient definitely could get enough emotional support at home from community or voluntary services
Q54. The right amount of information and support was offered to the patient between final
treatment and the follow up appointment
They will be inviting over 100 patients/ carers from all over the Black Country ICS ( Walsall,
Dudley, Sandwell and Wolverhampton) and this event is a way of giving valuable feedback to
make a difference going forward.
This will be held at the Wolverhampton Wanders Molineux Football Stadium in Wolverhampton and will run 9.30am – 3.00pm, with refreshments.
